Travis Kelce clarified that he did not have dinner with his rival Christian McCaffrey after the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Fransisco 49ers in 2024 Super Bowl.
“I went to California and got caught going to Nobu at the same time as Christian McCaffrey,” the Chiefs tight end told his brother, Jason Kelce, in Wednesday’s episode of their “New Heights” podcast.
“You guys had dinner together,” the newly retired Philadelphia Eagles center, 36, joked before Travis, 34, interrupted to reply with a laugh, “No. We didn’t.”
“But if I’d have known that him and Olivia [Culpo] were there, I would have sent over a drink or at least came over and said congrats on an unbelievable season,” the “Catching Kelce” alum explained.
Travis added that he has “so much respect for that guy,” referring to running back McCaffrey, as well as the other 49ers players he faced off against in this year’s NFL championship game.
“If I had known he was there, I would have definitely said hello, but I didn’t see that he was there. And sure enough, TMZ is throwing it out there,” he said of the paparazzi photos that later appeared online.
Last week, McCaffrey, 27, and his fiancée, Culpo, 31, were spotted arriving at the buzzy Japanese restaurant in Malibu, Calif., at the same time that Travis rolled up for dinner.
Travis — who showed up solo while his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, was busy gearing up for the Singapore leg of her Eras Tour — went to the eatery at around 8 p.m. wearing a baseball hat and a Chrome Hearts long-sleeve tee.
A few moments later, McCaffrey and the “Culpo Sisters” star pulled up in an SUV.
The couple, who got engaged in April 2023 after nearly four years together, were there to attend a star-studded event for Dolce Glow tanning company.
Other VIPs at the event included the influencer’s two sisters, Sophia Culpo and Aurora Culpo, as well as Chrissy Teigen and Becky G.
