Christian McCaffrey can’t stop, won’t stop thinking about football.
The San Francisco 49ers player’s coach, Kyle Shanahan, joked to reporters Wednesday that McCaffrey, 28, “probably” had sports on the brain while marrying Olivia Culpo in June.
“When he’s … walking down the aisle to get married, he’s probably thinking about his feet and how to do routes,” the 44-year-old said.
Shanahan, who meant “no offense to Olivia,” explained that the groom is “obsessed” with football.
He went on to call the running back “so deliberate” with “every rep, every walk-through [and] everything” he does.
McCaffrey wed Culpo, 32, while in the NFL’s offseason.
The couple have been together since 2019, with McCaffrey getting down on one knee four years later.
“We tried to keep this quiet for as long as possible but apparently word travels fast,” the reality star wrote via Instagram Stories in April 2023. “I’m marrying my best friend. I love you so much, fiancé.”
When the duo tied the knot in Rhode Island, the bride’s Dolce & Gabbana dress sparked controversy.
The backlash began after she spoke to Vogue about not wanting to “exude sex in any way, shape or form.”
McCaffrey came to his wife’s defense when a hater claimed the gown lacked “personality.”
He wrote, “What an evil thing to post online. I hope you can find joy and peace in the world, the way my beautiful wife does.”
Culpo, for her part, called the social media troll a “bizarre human” in the wake of the “extremely hurtful” diss.
The former pageant queen also clapped back at a TikTok user alleging she gave off “pick me vibes” by opening up about not using mascara, eyebrow pencil or lip liner.
“It was an interview,” Culpo commented on the July criticism. “They asked me what my makeup was.”
